The CADE Reef S2/P is our new range of customisable rimless, sump filtered saltwater Peninsula Aquarium systems designed specifically for the advanced reef aquarist.
The S2/P has been expertly crafted to enable the aquarist to build a truly personalised Reef Aquarium system without limitation. The Reef S2/P combines functional design and unique sophistication to produce a system that both compliments contemporary home decor whilst fulfilling all of your Reef keeping requirements.
Designed in Australia, the CADE Reef S2/P range is the new benchmark in Peninsula reefing with an unparalleled design and list of features. Our goal was to create the absolute perfect foundation to build your reef.

Reef S2 Tank
The CADE Reef S2/P Tank is a rimless open top design boasting super high clarity Opti-Clear glass with flat polished edges constructed using the highest quality German Whacker silicone. The CADE logo is laser etched within the front glass panel and serves as your guarantee of authenticity. Silicone is precision applied producing perfect gaps and a razor sharp minimalist finish.
One of the many unique features of the CADE Reef S2/P tanks are their extra wide profiles (Reef S2/P 1500 750mm / Reef S2/P 1800 800mm wide). Additional width enables the aquarist to create depth to their hardscape from all viewing angles with adequate room for coral growth and extension.
The CADE Reef S2/P slimline glass Weir incorporates both surface and low-level water intakes enabling superior uptake of heavier suspended solids that fail to reach regular surface intakes on regular weirs. Having 2 weir intake also serves as an emergency back up should one intake become blocked by a carpet anemone for example making it an important safety feature of our system. Behind the low intake vents is a sealed glass channel that diverts water to the surface. This glass channels function is to both direct the debris to the surface for direct intake to the surface level plumbing and also to prevent water flooding the weir when the pump is switched off.
Inside the weir, water is delivered to the sump via 2 drain pipes, a main down flow pipe and an additional emergency overflow pipe which assists flow to the sump filter should the main pipe become blocked. The water intake system has been carefully designed to ensure it operates silently without any further modification. The CADE Reef S2/P tank also has the ability to choose between multiple water levels by adjusting the super fine Gate Valve. To set the Aquariums water height, simply adjust the gate valve to set it to any level in between the low/high drain pipes.
Finally a great new addition to the entire S2 range is a pre laminated white base glass making it perfect for aquarists that prefer a bare bottom reef or a thin layer of sand that is often pushed around exposing the base glass.
Reef S2 Cabinet
CADE Reef S2 cabinets are 900mm tall and require absolutely no assembly whatsoever. We deliver them to you completely assembled (sump installed) within a solid plywood box. Simply open the box, position the cabinet, rest the tank on top and screw your plumbing together. It's that simple!
CADE Cabinets are constructed using materials that are 100% waterproof. We are all aware that wood, metal and salt water do not equate to a durable hardwearing cabinet and because water spills are inevitable in our hobby we've constructed our cabinets using completely waterproof materials aluminium, glass and industrial plastic. These materials will never swell, rust or deteriorate. Even the magnetic door closes are hidden inside the framework to prevent them corroding. The cabinet colour is anodized to the aluminium frame which provides a perfect hardwearing finish and is also unaffected by corrosive salt water. Rest assured that the CADE Reef S2 cabinet is designed to last you a lifetime.
The Reef S2/P cabinet has both front and rear doors with hinges and magnetic latches cleverly hidden within the frame work. The dominant side of the cabinet is the side containing power management. On this side all doors open. On the opposite side some doors are fixed to further increase structural integrity.
The Controller Management and Power Management areas on the S2/P has several distinguishing features that sets it apart from both the Reef S2 and anything else on the market today. Upon opening the cabinet door the aquarist is presented with a dedicated controller mount panel to neatly display all your aquarium device controllers. We’ve added cable feed holes to enable the aquarist to feed cables to the rear and a large cable management strip mounted to the rear of the panel to keep it all nice and neat. One of the best features of this system is the fact that the Controller Management panel is also a hinged door that opens to reveal the Power Management storage area for cables, power packs and back up batteries, a truly unique feature of the S2/P system. We’ve added 2x Power Distribution Units each containing 8x plugs/switches mounted directly to the controller panel, plugs rear facing and individual on/off switches on the front for easy access.
Both S2/P models have large ventilated dry areas allocated for chillers, dosing vessels and general storage. For your convenience we’ve also included a water feed tap for the chiller which swivels to the front or rear accommodating inlet locations of various different chiller models. Above this an Accessories Shelf is provided for placing items such as a dosing pump and general storage such as food.
To protect the tank the cabinet also has a foam padding pre-installed to protect the tank and we've also added industrial grade adjustable caster feet for simplicity when levelling out your Aquarium on uneven floors.
Filtration & Plumbing
CADE Reef S2 Sump filtration is a uniquely designed system that maximises space and provides endless versatility no matter what your filtration preferences are. Water flow through the new S2/P sump filter is a new raceway format providing optimum flow through each chamber for superior filtration. The S2/P filter incorporates a new 2x2 filter sock format with the first bank stepping down to the second for improved Mechanical Filtration efficiency. The next chamber is the Macro Algae chamber c/w removable baffle providing the option to not use this feature. The next 2 chambers are Protein Skimmer / Reactor chambers where you will find 3 water feed taps provided over head for your convenience. The following chamber flows into the Bio / Chemical Media area equipped with our flow controlled Filter Baskets, a unique inclusion to all of our R-S2 sumps. Each of the 10x10x20cm media baskets are removable and can be used for any form of Biological or Bio/Chemical filter media. Filter baskets offset the need for additional media reactors such as a Carbon Reactor saving space and unnecessary additional expenses. They also offer incredible convenience for swapping out media that expires. The final chamber is the Return Pump Chamber, adequately sized to accommodate any of the high flow return pumps on the market today. On the far side of the sump we have incorporated a high volume ATO Reservoir on each model which requires the addition of an Auto Top Off device (not supplied) to manage the replenishment of evaporated water.
CADE Reef S2/P Plumbing is a pre-fabricated screw fit design that installs in minutes and requires no silicone. The plumbing starts in the weir with 2x down flow pipes (main drain & emergency). The main is fitted with a newly designed fine tuning gate valve for silencing the weir. The gate valve also enables adjustment of the Aquariums displays water height. Return flow to the Aquarium is via 2x 1" pipes neatly concealed within the weir feeding water back into the tank on either side of the Aquarium. The entire system is extremely neat and designed to operate completely silent without modification.
The CADE Reef S2/P contains additional reactor and chiller water feed taps that allow the aquarist to use the main pumps outflow pressure to feed water to reactors or a chiller in the system. We provide each tap with the option of both hard plumbing connectivity using 1/2" pipe or a soft hose connection using a 19mm barbed hose fitting supplied unglued.
